NIH recently announced revisions to the PHS 398 and 2590 application instructions and forms (see grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-05-006.html and grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-05-007.html). NIH is accepting applications using these revisions now, but does not require use of the new instructions and forms until May 1, 2005, for 398 applications and May 10, 2005, for 2590 applications.
At the present time, EGMS is still using the 05/2001 revisions of these types of applications, and as such is also still using the instructions associated with the 05/2001 revisions. Work is underway to make the changes to EGMS needed to accommodate the new revisions. EGMS will be updated to incorporate these changes within the next month, well prior to the May deadlines. Look for additional updates on the availability of these changes in future editions of Research News Online and in the news section of the EGMS home page.
