Although any individual in the record owner’s Expertise Group can audit the Expertise record, only the record owner can validate the record. Validation is an indication that the Expertise record has been proofread and is accurate and error-free. Only the Expertise record owner has the Validate button on his/her Expertise Main Menu screen. After the audit of the Expertise record is passed, the record owner needs to validate the record. This step creates a complete Expertise record.
You can audit the Expertise record at any time, and as often as you choose.
After a subsection passes audit, the yellow margins of the subsection’s blue tab disappear. If new data is added after the most recent audit of a subsection, the yellow margins reappear.
The Audit step checks that you have completed the required fields but will not flag typographical errors or check for sufficient information in free form text fields.
