On your first log in to any of the EGMS databases, you create accounts in the EGMS databases using the User Registration screen. Complete the data fields and click the Add Me button. EGMS creates accounts for you in all four databases and sends the entered data to the Demographics subsection of the Expertise Database.

You will not see the User Registration screen on future log ins. You can return to this screen to update your data by clicking on the My Information link at the top of the Proposal Selection screen.

Enter your updated phone number and/or departmental affiliation in the relevant data field(s). Click the Update My Info button to overwrite the stored information.

Tips for data entry

Phone number: Enter a seven-digit number. Your departmental affiliation infers your area code.

Department: Use the Look up Department link or the Lookup button to complete the department name in the correct EGMS format.

The lookup mechanism on your screen depends on your browser version and settings.

For Look up Department: Clear the department name field before adding a new department name. Although the new department name may be typed in, click the Look up link to access a list of all current University departmental names, either alphabetically or by CUFS area designation. Locate your department, select the entire line of department name text, and copy and paste the text into the department name field.

For the Lookup button: Click the Lookup button. For the department, enter a keyword, portion of a keyword, or CUFS area designation in the search field. Click the Do Search button. From the displayed list, click on the correct department name. EGMS transfers the name to the department name field.
